We found this great spot in a campground in Eastern Ohio this spring. Ohio is our native state and we long to travel all 50 so much that sometimes we forget to appreciate the beauty we have within arms reach. This inspired me to explore a few more local spots this summer since we were unable to travel far for various reasons. I must say that I was not disappointed in what my home state had to offer. If you’ve explored Ohio at all you know that you can fine it all here: mountains (ok, maybe more like big hills but still! ), rock ledges galore, an 87 mile bike path along an historic canal, all the lake shore you could want from sandy to rocky, to shell covered or driftwood filled, farms and fairs and little towns that look they are straight out of a Hallmark movie, history (did you know that 7 US Presidents were born in Ohio?), architecture ( you must see Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens), 2 world class amusement parks (Cedar Point – personal fave and Kings Island), 2 Ikea’s, and we even have a National Park, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park! All I can say is O-H-I-O!!!
